MICHAEL VAN GERWEN is aiming to retain his Unibet Masters title this weekend in Milton Keynes to kick off 2016 in the same manner he began an imperious year 12 months ago.

The Dutch star proved untouchable as he took home the £60,000 first prize in last year’s Masters, which features the world’s top 16 players competing across two days at ArenaMK in Milton Keynes, live on ITV4.   The first session today starts at 12.45pm on ITV4 – I’ll be watching!

The £200,000 tournament will conclude on Sunday, with the quarter-finals taking place in the afternoon session and the

semi-finals and final in the evening session.

FANCY MORE DARTS?  The BDO have a new tournament next month (26-28th Feb), at the old Billingsgate building in London.  Looks a lovely venue – and the basic £29 for ALL day n evening darts comes with vouchers for ten pints.  The £59 VIP tickets not only get  you mixing with the the players, but also FREE BAR AND FREE FOOD all day n evening.   I’m going on the Saturday, and it’s 12-9pm.  That’s a lot of darts and free bar!   The top 24 in the BDO mens are playing, as well as the top ladies and youth players.  Worth a look I reckon.
